Nice!!! How long did it take you guys to pull it out? 40 Fahrenheit is nothing... try doing it up here in Canada. Remember our garages are Igloos and it’s minus a billion. So you can’t turn the heater on or the garage will melt. Try doing rust repairs in -30 Celcius temperature… Can you say warm metal feels nice to the touch!!!

 

i was cold at first but then after about 20 mins. of being out there it wasn't bad at all it took us about from about 8-10:30. so next i'm going to clean down the motor bay while i wait on my d16y8

 

nice... That's pretty good timing. Any problems on the way out... drive shaft nut or seized bolts?

 

only one thing that i forgot to take off was the shift linkage and we were lifting the motor out and i was AHHHH **** i forgot the shift linkage so we had to lower it back down a little bit. but we got it out some what easy

OH YEAH THE MOTOR AND TRANNY IS FOR SALE MAKE AN OFFER I"M NOT TO SURE WHATS WRONG WITH THE MOTOR BUT I WILL BE PULLING IT APART SOON!

 

you'll have fun with this new motor, but in my case, i burned the fun out of it. Next up, b16 lol

 

are you saying ill have fun with it cause its a hard swap or ill have fun wiht it cause its a good motor, or what lol

 

means the y8 will be nice.. but you'll prolly get tired of it and upgrade to Bseries vtec motor.

haha. ...Canadian here as well but not rust work...

 

Man you lucked out. You had an engine hoist. My brother, Rostr02 and I took my engine out with nothing just a long pole and leverage. But good luck with the swap.

 

what's with all the y8 swaps becoming more common and common now? About 6 months ago I think it was still not as common

me and my buddy took an engine out 2 days ago in 1 hour and 15 minutes hahahaa it was on a lift with air tools though.
