Turbo R's: Turbo w/nitrous?
All,
I am running an 80 shot direct port NOS setup... is it possible to run a turbo setup in combination with it. The reason I ask is because I saw some nitrous kits made specifically for turbo cars, and I have direct port.
Also... assuming that I get a stronger bottom end (9:1 compression pistons, i think & new rods), how much boost would be recommended in combo with the nitrous. How much boost would it take to run low 12's or even high 11's?
Thanks,
Jon

RealTypeR,
What kind of nitrous setup do you have that is making 230whp? What are your other mods?
I am still deciding whether cams or a turbo would be a better idea with the nitrous.

JDM ITR 4:1 Header, Test Pipe, Injen Intake, lots of fuel upgrades, 70 shot single fogger wet NOS kit. Soon to be stage 1 100 direct, stage 2 50 shot. Once I put the VAFC on and exhaust, it should pull 240-245 and over 200 ft/lb torque. After I'm done with the Nitrous setup, I'm hoping for 300 whp.

Wow... thats A LOT of nitrous.. are you building the bottom end?
What kind of fuel upgrades did you do... I just have a Holley fuel pump for an upgrade, I was told that was all that was neccesary...

yes turbo and n2o would be sick. you would have to ride with slicks all the time..
a good friend of mine has revhard kit with built bottom.. 1st 3 gears are spining...

n2o would only be good to get off the line, or perhaps to cool the intake charge. can't think of much else, but stick w/ turbo or nitrous only.
You will be able to hit high 11's with 10lbs of boost, plus ur nitrous shot..but highly unlikely u will do it on street tires, cuz u'll be spinning like a top. Just make sure you get urself a good stand-alone engine management system, as correct air/fuel ratios are needed. If ur gonna spend the money on an Engine Management, then u should be able to use 10.1:1 cr....but if ur just gonna use piggy-backs, u might wanna lower compression to 9.1:1 cr. I would also recommend u to change ur rods. The ITR rods are sufficient for n/a use..but in f/i situations, they desintigrate rather quickly.

Why risk F*cking some up with the NOS, I say all NOS or all Turbo not a combo.
