what ecus can i run on a 1st gen rex
Only one I know of that's plug-n-play is an '86 or '87 Integra 5-speed ECU. And you will want a fuel pressure regulator to lower the fuel pressure just a bit, from what I gather. I'm running that ECU and '87 Integra injectors in my '87 CRX Si now, but without the FPR yet. It's got more high-end power, and pulls strongly above 4000rpm, but below that it runs rich, and when you step into the throttle at below 4000rpm, it stutters a little before it goes. For now, I'm okay with that setup, because the car isn't a street car at all; it only sees limited duty for autocrossing (and it hasn't even seen that for a while now, since I've got it torn apart in the middle of being reinvented for a different class...)
But anyway, the '86-'87 5-speed 'Teg ECU will work, and when you get the fuel pressure set right, I'm told it makes a big difference, since it's mapping fuel for a higher-revving DOHC 1.6 liter.
