What is Your Favorite ITR Characteristic?
There are many, many reasons to love the ITR. I'm sure we all all have our own reason for loving this car. What is your favorite characteristic of the ITR?
Is it its rawness? The communicative nature of the chassis? The superb handling? The limited quantity of production? The sound? The engineering? The high-revving engine? Is it the Honda reliability? The racing heritage? The performance for price? The color? The styling? The daily driver/track machine dual personality?
I know that there is a gestalt quality to the ITR that makes it so appealing and successful - the whole canonot be represented by the simple sum of its parts. But if you had to choose one favorite part or characteristic of your car what would it be?
For me, it has to be the way the car inspires confidence through communication. When driving the R on the track there is never a moment when I am left wondering what the car is doing or how it is reacting to even my most subtle (and sometimes ham-fisted) inputs. I have learned to 'talk' with the R and it always talks back quickly if you are listening. It is an amazing feeling.

It's silly season, isn't it?
My car has changed a bit in the last year... it used to be my favorite thing was the sharpness in handling, the really quick response to any input, etc...
Now it's the look on Turbo Porsche and M3 drivers at HPDE's when I tell them my car is stock.. close second is the BOV sneezing along on my way to work.

It's more of a 'whole package' thing for me. But the points that stand out that I especially like are..
- Quick steering
- The feeling of the gearbox
- The Recaros
- The fit and finish of the interior. (For a Jap car) My car is more than 8 years old, but it still feels pretty new.

so much to like I dont know if I could choose just one. unfortunately for me my car has had its fair share of downtime and I have yet to get the most out of the car for what its worth. that is finally about to change as my new block just came in today!!!

The fact that the car is so good that I don't get tired of it or have the need to modify it even after almost 3 years of ownership. That its a car that needs nothing but gives you everything.
Oh and the pretty color.

What's there not to like.......
I like all the characteristics. The one that stands out most is definitely its suspension handling and feel.

All of that. But if I had to pick one thing, it would be its versatility - the last item you mentioned. The fact that you can take it out on the racetrack, bone stock, and it will feel so FINE. You can drive it every day and it's economic and reliable. You can shlep lots of stuff inside, everything from shopping for large items to lugging wheels and tires and stuff to the track. Slap on a set of winter tires and you can go anywhere in the middle of winter weather. It just does so MANY things so well.
A close second would be the color. I think they really nailed it right with the Phoenix Yellow - just the perfect shade.

It pulls the bitches.
Serious reason is because it always has that sense of urgency no matter what your doing. Cruising or autocrossing it always feels like a little race car ready to go.
