Default fomula one 16x7 with 40 offset

i searched and read all there is about offset, i understand it but what i need to know is the exact stock offset for my car and from personal experience if this wheel will rub on my car, it will be tucking tire so i dont want any chance of rubbing. i'm asking this again because from what i read people suggested anything from a 30 to a 55 degree offset, so i cant make an accurate decition. thanks

40mm will tuck and will not rub, 38mm is the lowest I would go. The higher the number the further in the wheel will be. At one time I had 18 by 8 inch wheels with a 45mm offset on my old LS. Also the wider the wheel the higher the offset will need to be.

great, my last rims rubbed like crazy and i hated it. I'm also trying to decide on the best tire size, i know it's going to be a 45 series sidewall but dont know if to go 205 215 225??? right now i'm riding on 205 50 15. i want the tire to have a totally straight sidewall dont want it to bow out or point in, kinda hard to explain what i mean. thanks

205/45/16 will work the best, I think that a 215 cross section will bubble out too much, and the 225 will rub on the back lip.
