Question about the D16y7
thinkin of getting this motor from someone off h-t for pretty cheep.... would be going into a 90STD hatch... pros? cons?... never heard of y7 whats the diff between y7 & 6 for the ef?

First of all Ive never seen a d16y6 motor in this country..I seen some back in my home country of barbados..Some in Jamaica..Some in Australia..Never seen that motor in this country before..
If you want to convert the d16y7 to vtec all you have to do is get a d16y8 or d16z6 head(These motors are more easy to find then the d16y6)..and remove the oil jet on the block..Then wire up vtec

actually the d16y7 has vtec-e which turns off an intake valve on each cylinder when it turns on so as to swirl the air inside the combustion chamber, to save on gas. its got 115 hp. I would highly recommend going with a different swap if you want power.
