Default CRX Oil Pressure Switch

I've read through a ton of archived post in the past few days and didn't find what I was looking for, so here's what I need to know. Can I eliminate the oil pressure switch? I won't be using a stock gauge cluster any longer so the idiot light will be gone, I have already ran my hose off the block where the switch used to be and I am basically looking for a way to use only 1 3 way to hook up my turbo oil line and an electronic oil pressure gauge.

I've looked through some wiring diagrams and couldn't see where this would have any affect on the ECU, but then again, I consider myself electronically challenged. Can anyone confirm that it is ok to remove the switch? Thanks

yeah, im pretty sure the oil pressure switch is isolated to anything else. you can remove it or replace it with whatever you want.

It wont cause any problems. I'm not running one in my CRX since I hooked up an oil pressure gauge and didn't feel like T'ing off for the idiot light.

Appreciate the quick reply. I was thinking it would be ok to remove but as I said, I'm not real confident in my electrical abilities. lol thanks again!

I did a T off the block and attached it to the firewall, I didn't feel like extending the wire any further so i said no to the oil line

be brave and run with no gauges at all

it has no influence on the ecu, my switch is broke right now, as the lead broke off the switch where it plugs in, i have had no problems driving these past 3 months with a non working switch.
