Default Oil return line, I made a mistake..

I told everyone the wrong part on 2 things.
First was the the 1/2 to -10 fitting, I said 3/8 to -10 and I was wrong there.
The other was the steel weld fitting, get brass for the oil pan.

How is that fitting in the pan? Welded on the inside? Or just tapped?

damn that is a good job on the oil plug fitting on the oil drain
also looks like a really good install.
u guys should be finised today for sure

BTW, i got some leads on some parts out in Ft. Worth. all the parts i need basically.
gotta go check them out on tuesday.

kinda looks like that oil line is running up near the pan, but maybe its the angle of the shot.

Also, those pics are not the final results. I had to fix the hose so it was facing more down so the oil wont get blocked.

Mikex25, in the 1st pic it is aluminimum. I didnt take a pic of the weld fitting that we used but it is brass.

shingles, I buy and have them made locally for me.
But Max-rev is a good piece aswell.

Sure it is brass art? All the ones I found were brass colored with a brass coating, but they were mild steel underneath.. we brazed mine to my oil pan.

I wouldn;t get a 90 deg hose end...you'll better off with 45 deg, I hade leaks with 90 deg, better luck with 45 deg....just angled it right, to where it goes down...

Why do you recommend brass over steel for the fitting? My experiences have been that brass is much harder to work (weld) with, and it ended up costing me the price of a new oil pan to find out.

Well according to dustin its steel but a brass color or coating. It want very hard to weld so maybe it was steel.

Here's what we did on my oilpan, just a suggestion for the people ot there without welders...

We went to the local high pressure fitting store and picked up a screw together bulkhead. Along with thick nylon washers/grommets it sealed tight inside and outside the oilpan. No chance of slag, leaks or ugliness. It was really a nice fit, and was only about $20 for the whole conglomoration.

I'll try to get pics once I borrow my brother's digital camera again.

NAPA has those parts, I did the same thing with the bulkhead fittings and it hasn't leaked yet.

aluminum is tough to weld. Brass is fairly easy compared ot that damn aluminum it starts metling and stuff
