Default SSR Bankrupt

If this is old news I musy have missed it. It looks like SSR is filing for bankruptcy protection. I saw this post on another forum from Gary@Tirerack:

Just got some info on this.

SSR did file for protection from their creditors last Thursday. The company is currently closed for additional business. There will be a period of company restructuring, we expect to learn the details of these actions within the next month or so.

Have no further info/speculation. Also I've been told that customers can be assured that The Tire Rack will honor all product warranty claims.

Here's the link if you want to read it yourself: http://www.bimmerfest.com/foru...86024

SSR has such a good name, and good product in the business I would hope they pull through and continue opperations. Bankrupcy is them not being able to pay their bills for whatever reason. Often the problem is poor management decisions if the product is good.

Anyone know SSR's actually company name? I tried looking for official news but couldn't find anything under SSR.

That's too bad, they were one of the first companies to offer affordable aftermarket wheels to fit the new Lotus Elise.

It's Speed Star Racing. Guess my Type X's will become collectible now.
