I've contacted the original poster, and he has my contact info. If my schedule allows, I will check out the car for him. But, the more of us the better, imho. Contact me privately for more info.

Oh, this is the one missing the wheels, seats, etc... for under 10K.

Good luck with it. It doesn't sound like a bad deal, but the description was very vague.

The guy sent me some pics of the car yesterday... everything he said was true. only missing wheels, ecu, seats, and arm rest. He got some altez. lights on the R that must be takein off asap.... lol the itr looks funny on all steelies... All the ecu wire is on the ground but still seem to have the plugs on the wires so that is good. The person i was getting a loan from bailed out on me... Looking for a loan from someone till i sell my car. The guy wants to sell the car this weekend .... kinda rushing things, hope he waits for me to get all the money if the car is good.

Don't rush.

That is the wrong way to do it for many reasons.

I totally agree, for your own sake dont rush this or you may regret it...

Plus you are not exactly close, so you gotta think about that realistically too, you may not completely know what you are getting into.

Good luck man.

Midwest hmmm.... don't even live near a farmland..... i live in Johnson county like the 3rd or 4rd richest county in the USA.... don't stereotype me because i live in Kansas.... i know about 4 or 5 guys around me wit itr's.... and i see gs-r's all the time .. gs-r's are not hard to come by around here...

Yeah you guys are right i shouldn't be rushing things.... the seller has the car at a auto-body place and has to pay to keep it there.... That is why he wants to sell it soon.... Need to talk to him after i get off school and solve this problem

Took a look at the car this morning. All in all, it's a nice car. Everyone has different priorities when looking at cars. With that said, the car is pretty clean. The owner kept the car in nice shape. I think it's worth the asking price, but this is a very subjective opinion. It's missing the ECU, front and rear seats and wheels, but the rest of car is in good shape. There's some waves on the passenger door from parking lot kisses. I wouldn't call them dents, but rather waves...

W/o the ECU, don't know how the engine runs, but the oil level was good, all the fluids looked to filled properly. Maybe some coolant could be added but still inbetween the fill and max lines. Engine bay is clean.

The only thing "wrong" w/ the car is a bent tab on the sheetmetal that holds the ECU and the lower plastic cover over the lower part of the steering column had scratch marks in the holes for the screws.

Whoever stole the parts knew what they were doing. Didn't damage anything in the process, including the ECU wires, i.e., not cut, but rather unplugged...

What I can remember from looking at the car for 15 minutes...

Sorry to offend you, but im pretty sure GS-Rs are hard to come by there because I was looking for a gs-r there 2 yrs ago. Given there are more for sale now since hteyve been on the mkt longer, but still...

Im well aware of "Johnson county" But same with all of the midwest, we have no cars compared to other places. I live in the middle of St. Louis, so there arent any farmlands particularly close to my house either, but there is no debating the fact that compared to the northeast and Cali, we have no cars...

Face it, we are deprived.

here's the original thread......https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1143043

kinda curious why the car is in the shop if its just missing a few parts. i emailed the seller asking for VIN but never got a reply. i also asked the seller if i could plug in an ecu to do some diagnostics on the car condition. anyone got more info on this molested car?

I personally checked out the car for the original poster of this thread. It's at the body shop because the car owner moved and no longer has a garage. The reason why it was molested was because it was sitting out in front of his new place of residence. I also think the owner of the car is on this board...

I'll write more later. I'm on my way to Laguna Seca for a track event and have to hit the road...
