External Oil Pump Sfwd/T4-is it allowed???
Whats up guys,I was looking into a single stage external oil pump from a few companies, before i actually go and buy one is it allowed in Sfwd and T4.
The one i'm lookin into has no vacuum, and also allows alternator.
Any info would help.

If you are looking at the Moroso unit that is a single stage wet sump external pump system it is allowed. Like you said, it can have no vacuum and no reserve oil tanks.
looking at the general guidlines it stated that Drysumps systems were allowed in the T4 class......I called Glen on this the other day...and he said it was ok...
Just to confirm once again:
DrySump?
Any turbo size?
Any Tire Size as long as you only cut 1" off the fender wells?
VP C-56/Import?
Any fabricated Aluminum suspension parts as long as they still use the stock mounting points?
Hopefully nothing has changed since I spoke with Glen....the car is almost ready to head to the powdercoaters!

No drysumps allowed, only wet sump single stage pumps allowed. Everything else is as you stated Howard.

ut oh......
BTW...I had to trim the core support some for the turbo manifold and radiator....thats cool right?...oh and maybe the Waste gate goes through the corner of the headlight too...but its totally functional still!
we didnt have to cut the bumper as much as everyone else does either...the turbo hangs out in front of it...
here's a couple of pics

howard that looks crazy and awesome and fun all in one.
Good to see a wild new set-up in that class. hope it works out well.
150+ trap, would be awesome but you know trap speed doesn't win races E.T. does. But if you get it to the ground in 1st and 2nd and trap that kind of speed WOOOOOWWWWW that'll be quik

Read the rules...you guys state that Dry Sumps are legal in the T4 and T6 general rules.... 4.11 no vacuum pumps are allowed....
As a matter-of-fact the T4 is in red ink this year as opposed to last years rules...meaning it was new for the year...
Listen guys...there is no differences between the wet or dry sumps....just think the sump tank is added weight....we have a dry sump here...and im not happy to purchase anything else...
What happened if (lets say for the arguement) the new ZO6 Corvette was to run in the class....would you whine that the factory put a drysump on the car?
Im just saying yes there is no advantage to having one except you will definetly have less oilpump failures in the class....
I cant ever win...I read the rules and they change faster than I can build the car...geeez...

I know alot of Ferrari's have dry sumps, can they race? lol
For what it's worth, the IS a definite advantage to a dry sump system, why do you think so many race cars run them? There is power there...
