Default Upgrading a '91 Civic dual point to a 2000 cylinder head & Multi-point HELP

I have a blue 1991 Civ Hatch STD, (named Stitch) it comes with a 1.5 NON-VTEC engine, 4 speed tranny, it does need some work, front right axle, suspension, and I'd like to upgrade the engine, I'm working within a budget of $1,200, I'm not looking to race, but I do want better handling and performance.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.

I would probably search the FAQ in the above stickies. I'm not real sure what you are asking. A 2000 cylinder head?

Find a d16z6 or a dohc zc, convert to mpfi, and swap that in to your car. 130hp and a very good bang for the buck swap.
