Default Burping/Bleeding Coolant System

How do you burp/ bleed your coolant system on a 95 EX motor. I know there is a nipple that you are supposed to open that is located where the top radiator hose connects to the head, but are you supposed to take the radiator cap off fill it up and then start the car. If so what do you do after that and how do you know if it is done.

Leave the cap off. Squeeze or push down the upper hose to push air bubbles around to get them out. Sometimes I have better luck pushing the hose down & pushing the air towards the radiator instead of towards the bleeder. Just try that kinda stuff to see what works best for you.

After you drain your old coolant out of the radiator and reservoir bottle, fill the radiator with your mix of coolant up till the base of the filler neck.

Then loosen the bleed bolt on top of the engine. Tighten it again when coolant comes out in a steady stream with no bubbles.

Then refill the radiator to the base of the filler neck. Start the engine and let it run until it warms up(the radiator fan will kick on to signal this). Watch the coolant for any additional bubbles coming out the top of the the radiator. If you don't see any bubbles, it's safe to top off the level again if needed and put on the radiator cap. Then fill your reservoir bottle with new coolant as well.

Good luck!
