1. jdm ITR/CTR standard size pistons will go into a gsr block smoothly
2. Wouldnt hurt to get your block honed and whatever, also, would be smart to replace the bearings and seals, possibly new rod bolts, head bolts/studs, replace the head gasket while your at it
3. Yes, all b series vtec timing belts are the same I believe

correct me if i'm wrong...

I've never put an itr piston on a gs-r rod. But I'm pretty sure they are fine. As for the cylinder. yeah same size, same wrist pin location etc etc. I've heard(again never done) ctr pistons will need to be machined to fit a gs-r rod.
Always get your block at least honed before you throw new pistons and rings in there. Replace the bearings and seals and gaskets as well. As for the head bolts. Those aren't torque to yield so you can reuse them. But nothing wrong with getting some ARP bolts or studs.
Not all b series vtec timing belts are the same. But 94+ gs-r and type r are.

why do you have to modify the ctr pistons to make it fit on the gsr rod

Yes, I used to have them in my old GSR, they fit fine.

ITR pistons with a gsr head make higher compression than they do with a type r/b16 head.. any 81mm+ piston will work smoothly if your going through a good machine shop.. the ideal head would be the domes of a gsr and the ports of a type r.. gsr heads have a weired chambers on the exhaust side that enable the head, even port&polished, to flow as good as a type r

by the way i have a set of USDM ITR pistons and rods... the have just over 5000 miles on them $120shipped.. i was going to throw them in my gsr but plans have changed
