Default swapping brakes without trailing arm

ok, ive searched for as long as i can stand and i cant find the information im looking for. a while back i notice that someone was selling the rear brakes off of a 99 si. he was selling calipers, rotors, hubs. everything except the trailing arms. so what im wondering is, are the trailing arms the same on cars with drums versus cars with disks? and if so, why is it that swapping the entire assembly seems to be the more popular way to upgrade? it seems it makes more sense to not buy the trailing arms and pay that much more shipping if you dont have to. any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Yes all TAs are the same. Swapping the enitre thing is a lot easier than changing hubs

All I have to say is, good luck getting the nut off the back of the hub without air tools. Hopefully you have some. I had to soak mine in wd-40 for a while and then the air tool barely took it off. I don't have the part yet, but I have a feeling the torx are going to be a lot of fun to...

EDIT: Changing the hubs over really isn't that big of a deal if you have air tools... only took me about 10 minutes per a side to get it stripped down to the torx bolts.
