Default Plastic Housing Melting???

Just wondering if I used HID's in my JDM one peice housing will it melt the housing? I highly doubt it, but my friend with a 98 240sx said someone with the JDM Genki one peice hosuing (plastic) on their 240sx melted.

I probably shouldn't compare Honda and Nissan headlights, but I would like some reisurance from someone with HID's in thier JDM headlights.

(I will not be retro fitting projectors, but will be using a blocking plate.)

I have them in mine and no problems. I have also heard that HIDs run cooler. But then again I did do a retro. If you keep the reflector housing and just put in a HID kit then it may be hotter I dont know.

Yeah I heard that HID's do run cooler, but without the retro fitted projectors it could heat up, because JDM ITR's run plastic housing with projectors though.

Anyways like stated earlier few have done it without a problem then it should be fine...
