Why is the 88 CRX lighter than the 89
I know why the 88 and 89 are lighter than the 90-91.... BUT..... Why is the 88 lighter than the 89
http://www.crxsi.com/specs.htm
This site lists the 88 at 2017lbs and the 89 at 2138
I figure the 88 was weighed with out the A/C, but the A/C isnt much more than 50lbs, so where is the rest???

there is less bracing in all of the door, as it doesn't have to support you in a crash. look at the differences in the top of the door.
i've got a set of both doors that i'll weigh and post sometime to put this to rest.
less bracing in some parts of the chassis making it slightly less stiff , though i'm basing this on what others have said, and i don't know where.
as for model differences, i'll be a little lazier- search, it's all on here.

a million really slow bucks with ugly interior if it's stock...
but maybe that's cause i'm jealous.

the difference in weight between a 88 hf and 89 hf is that ac was an option on a 88 and on 89 it was standard i believe. The weight difference is like 20 pounds. 90-91 hfs are heavier because of seat belts mounted to the doors.
