Default Are there headers better than DC sports for 97 lude.........

I have a 97 lude...I have Dc sports headers installed in it. I was told before that there are better ones because supposably DC restricts a little air flow. When I did my research DC were the best ones for hondas in gereneral....If anyone has any other type of info please help a fellow luder out.....

DC =

They are what I like to call a, "budget" header.
If you really want to see some gains, try out Mugen. Expensive, yes, but good. I'm going to give you the oldest, most annoying probably, but also one of the more accurate advices... You get what you pay for.

i saw one that kteller made i think for the h22 called the rage... it was really nice... and it looked like it would work really well... i think its $$ tho... the dc sports is alright for what it is, if you do the collector mod..

you know i think DC makes a pretty god header (goood blend of power/quality vs cost) it is kinda budget tihng but its alot better than 2/3 of teh stuff out there...

if you ahve the coin, mugen, or maybe a few others in that price range.

Did a little more research and just found out that their are two headers best for our ludes. One is the SMSP which is expensive but dynos at 22hps. The other is the mugen. Not sure about the dyno but is cheaper than the SMSP. The SMSP has to be custom made. Which makes it hell of expensive....Mugen can run you about 500 usds if your lucky. Thanks guys for your help....I think I just found the header I want. The SMSP is what I want to get...........Here is the link to call the guy to special make you header for your lude........

everyone on here already knows about SMS headers, do a search and u will see tons of threads of ppl raving about them.
Dont expect to get a bolt on 22hp gain, it doesnt work that way, the SMSP headers are 2.5" piping I believe, and are really made for ppl who are going to be doing dyno tuning and adding internals.

I think you should keep the Dc header and do the collector mod myself.

I don't think it's worth a couple ponies to get a mugen over the dc
with the collector mod.

I will most likely be doing a before/after dyno on the collector
mod on my setup.

h22 headers:

best gain, most expensive: SMSP, Hytech, Mugen

decent gains, midrange price: prospeed/an-r/rage/kteller (these headers are all the same price), fujitsubo

bargain headers: greddy, DC, DC copies. of these the greddy is the best, and not too bad, but requires mods to put onto a 5th gen as they were made for 4th gen ludes only.

i have a prospeed header. i think it's definitely the best bang for the buck, however the SMSP, mugen and hytech outperform it.
