Default Collector fabing ??

Im gonna get a tig this year but i want to try making a collector for headers on my new truck. Ive looked around and can not find a how to make a collector post? any tips?

Here is a pic of the manifold its like thin stampped steel and i think this is why the truck sounds tinny i want to make it out of cast.

The manifold is realy restrictive.

I was thinking of just making it like 1.25-1.5" on the front runner then step it up on the second runner to 1.5-1.75 and just make the 2nd and 3rd runner pointing towards the rear.

Cause if u see on the 1st runner it has a bends so the exhaust gases get forced towards the cat but the 2nd and 3rd go both ways and cause turbulance. what u guys think

Exhaust gases are going to exit the engine through the least restrictive route. Shouldn't be a problem with exhaust gases going both ways. As far as collectors go, they're not that hard to make. Decide what primary tube size you want and the collector outlet size, make two cuts on each tube and you're done. If that sounds hard try searching for a company that makes headers for it. Just about every car or truck has an aftermarket of some sort. If not then the engine is not worth doing anything to anyways.

I agree....and if you have the ability to weld, why not get some cheapass header off ebay? If it cracks one day, you can weld it up easy.
