POLL: 4th Gen Ludes Rear Quater Panel Rust
The only rust I have is in the sunroof
I've seen like 3 other preludes that are in the same condition!

Part of the problem with preludes rusting in the back fenders is the rubber lining they put along the wheel wells they hold water in them. My uncle has been doing body work for along time and pointed this out to me when i bought my car
damn jun took the words right outta my mouth.
just had my car at the bodyshop today and got told that by my painter
i had that on the right side and rust on the sunroof too.. other sides fine, even with the rubber lining.. the side that had rust was fixed (probably fulla bondo blahh) and doesnt have that lining..
i didnt even notice that til today tho

I've got a 93 vtec from chicago and have mor than just quarter panel rust. Let's see, both A pillars, the roof near the windsheild, both quarterpanels, driver's side door, and one fender. The only rust free parts of my car, at least they seem rust free, are the passenger side door, trunk, hood (which the clear coat is discoloring due to engine heat), and one dented fender. Lucky me, anyone want to trade? At least the car passes emissions.

Mine is in the same condition.
You have to remember that we live in states with lots of rain, snow, and SALT!!

93 Vtec, been in SoCal all of its life, only rust spot was in the sunroof. I took care of the rust with some rust bullet, then painted over it with factory touch up. no more problems. rust was starting to spread, rust bullet pretty much stopped it.
Rust free on the sunroof thankfully, but there's rust on both rear quarter panel. On the passenger side it is cracking, on the driver's side it is just dots, both about 2''. Can't wait to get them fixed.
mine is garage kept and rarely taken out in the snow yet i've already rotted 1 qtr panel and rusted a hole through another. i've repaired both and undercoated the hell of them and it 5 months later it's back again! damn the northeast!
I used to have a rust spot on the fuel door side of the qp.
I replaced the qp with a different one when it got wrecked
and got a fresh paint job on it. sol goode now
I make sure not to drip any gas in the fuel door compartment either

i should vote twice....
my first prelude, a 93 vtec was from cali and had no rust at all.....at 130k.....
this prelude, a 96 si, from pennsylvania has one little place on the sunroof, and then the usual quater panel due to the rubber liner.....this is at 110k

215,500 miles here and both rear qp's are rusting, booo.... is there a way to fix the rust so that it wont come back in 5 months? i fixed my 89's rust when i had it and it came back within the next year or so... i wanna fix it on my 93 but im not gonna put all kinda $ into that old of a car, however i will do it myself if someone says how it can be done and be worth it!
Ever since I got my 4th gen Prelude, it's been there and its pretty annoying to look at. I think I'll bondo it up when spring time comes, because it throws off the super sexy look of the car.
