passenger mirror removal
i really want to remove that passenger side mirror. i always look over my shoulder anyways, so i basically never use my side mirrors, but running without a driver's side one is illegal. it pisses me off knowing that a civic that comes without it gets a coefficient of drag a whole 0.01 better than it's identical twin with the second mirror. i'm trying to greatly reduce drag on my car (without lowering). i'm working on underbody pieces, working with aluminum and fiberglass, maybe carbon fiber as a finished product if i get rich. anyways, i was wondering if any of you guys would be interested in a fiberglass (or carbon) layup to replace the passenger side mirror. would be off-white (or carbon), but could be paint-matched with a little work on your part. anyone dig?
yeah, i have. and i figure, i could just remove the passenger side, replace the driver's side with spoon knock-off, and take out the power mirrors crap. who needs power for the driver's mirror? i mean, you can easily reach it at any time. several pounds of weight loss here. i know i can get spoon knock-off mirrors on ebay for like $50, and fiberglass is no prob. pretty cheap and not very hard for me here. what i'm really wondering, though, is this: is anybody willing to join me so that i'm not just building a mold for 1 use? that foam crap is expensive, but i love it so . . .
