mugen active gate v.s. the nsx setup q's?
just wondering what you guys would prefer and the reason why. i have 96 nsx calipers with legend rotors at the moment and have a chance to upgrade for pretty cheap (100 bucks or so). would you do it? thanks in advance.
So, youre saying you could "step-up" the the Mugen active gate setup for an additional $100?
I'd think that would be a no-brainer, since Yoshi and Mike seem to have had very good success with the active gate after having used the NSX/Legend kit.

yeah its only another 100 out of my pocket for them. the only for me is the use of 16in wheels. stock itr wheels dont over them? how good is the s2000 caliper vs.s the nsx ones?

Some guy in the Appearance forum used the AGBs with 15in CE28 wheels.

OK need to Clarify here - Are you getting a real active gate system? It seems that the biggest advantages to the active gate are the rotors/lines/pads.
The calipers are very ordinary, and if you wanted you could get the same size rotors as the Active gate by doing a 1999/up RL calipers and rotor setup.
The NSX calipers are also 2 piston, whereas S2K are 1 piston.
I don't know about the NSX calipers bolting up to s2k brackets, but I know that Legend calipers will bolt up to ITR, Legend, and RL Brackets (though ITR Brackets are narrower and wont accept a 28mm disc)

IMO go with what has the ability to lock up your tires, and wont fade.
I have watched your build up and doens't look like its going to be a track car, so id just use the cheaper of them, there both good.
Mugen
pro
AGB has bigger cooling vent's
Con
fckn ***** expensive to replace and not something you can pick up easily.
OEM
pro
NSX has 2 piston caliper, which equals better pedal modulation.
replacement parts rae cheaper
cons
still expinsive
I'd go with the OEM nsx setup, cheap and will still get you good results, and i doubt you'd ever be able to push the car past the limits of that setup
