I might be picking up an Si or is it?
A friend of mine has a white, i believe 89 or 90 crx, I havent seen it yet. He says its a 1.6 with mpfi. So im guessing it has to be an Si becuz the previous owner isnt the kind of person to do a swap. The only thing i dont know about is the interior. Its blue, so were there even Si's made with the white exterior and blue interior?
Ive searched to **** and back and cant find **** about factory color options.

you havent seen the car in person? have you seen pics? if your not going to look at it soon ask for the vin/chassis code and some pics. you can check those with the si and if they are different then its not an si.

No. All Si models had a black interior. The white HFs and DXes had the blue interior.

Just like the others have stated, the blue interior is a dead giveaway that it is a HF or DX.
But once in a blue moon, people might put HF/DX blue interior installed to replace their nice black Si interior
Maybe he's just giving you a Si motor... in a HF/DX body.

What does it say on the engine block?
D15B6 or D16A6
Does it have the Si badge?
Also you can run a free vin check on it and it will tell if it is a 1.5 or 1.6(for the car,...he might have done the swap)
Does the cluster have a tach in it?
In order to tell if it is a 88-89 or a 90-91, look around the cluster, is it square or rounded as it is molded into the dash?
Another thing with the tach....what does it redline at? HF tachs show the redline around 5k, while si tachs show 6500ish (I know the redline of the si motor is 6800, but yeah it's not exactly stock in my case so it's not like i really care what the stock redline is... (i usually wait until i hit the needle to the dash
)
all wheel discs are usually a giveaway, BUT a friend just got a 89 SI that yes, in fact was an SI ....but it had rear drums
. It had the badge, tach, moonroof, a6 motor, black interior etc....everything that a Si has....except it had rear drums.
anyways hope it helps

brakes are nothing to **** with especially if you dont know what you're doing
There are 2 things you must never half *** when it comes to cars... brakes and suspension. You can half *** your power supply / motor etc all you want becuase it isn't going to kill ya...****** w/ brakes + suspesnion and not doing it right will kill ya.

Most Ive ever done brake wise was change pads, even that wasnt fun</TD></TR></TABLE>
Yeah of course....but I was just trying to say it is something that shouldn't be done by a clueless person. If you do the research and all that and are confident that you can do it and want to shell out the extra money then by all means do it. I know you're up there in canada and even here in wisconsin I hear bad things about rear disc brakes in the snow....
I've had 2 si's that had rear disc brakes and with both there was a problem with the rear drivers side brake caliper... and I've had 2 88's (1 4dr and 1 crx) and the drums work great for burnouts
OT: How are the rods working for you?

I know all the differences between the si and dx/hf but it just seemed wierd that it has an a6 in it. I know its mpfi too. I did however forget to ask about the sunroof, which now i feel really dumb becuz i should have known that.
Thanks guys
