Default analogue to digital gauges???

i have a 99 900RR that has the stock analogue gauges which look very lame if you ask me. these arn not it but they look almost the same
I want to know if its possible to splice in gauges from a newer bike. can it be done??? if not, at the very least anyone know of a company that makes replacement gauge faces?

Is your tach connected to one of those twist cable things or is it digital to the gauge? That'd probably make or break your plans.

First its analog.....hahaha
Never heard of anyone really doing that, except removing the whole thing and just adding a tach.

it is possible if you have an electronic speedo, ie not the cable coming off the front wheel. you should have electronic. try some 929 gauges. i know many people put f4i guages on their f4/f3. i have some f4i gauges if your interested. i was planning on converting to an electronic speedo on my f2 but its too expensive. not too sure how f4i gauges would match up, but just get a wire diagram. i know when converting you lose your fule gauge. hope that helps.

I really like most of the new digital gauges. I actually think its easie to read at
a glance.

I saw that someone above stated try using the 929 or 954 gauges... if you have a local salvage shop close by the just take your gauges off and find a wrecked 929 or 954 and see if your gauges fit its wiring harness... Or you could cut and splice wires... its only like 8 wires on the 900rr that are actually used from plug to plug. Id just try it and find out to see what happens. Whats to lose right?

analog gauge is more accurate than digital.

i would think the exact opposite? glancing down its jsut digits, or its a angle (like on a clock.. 11 o clock... 10 o clock... 3 o clock..hehe) and i can judge like that, kinda like in a car... but usually i feel where the bike is / what gear its in

i can see that, i don't think i look at my gauges all that much. maybe only when stopped to see where the temps are at.

my 929 redlines at 11.5 and goes all the way up to 13.5 hope that helps. i think the 929/954 gauges are your best bet. it is an easy project though.
