Default Think your exhaust is loud?

I think mine is louder.

suck it sound police.

right click save as for video

both times, I was about 1/2 mile down when I let off.

And this is a k20a3, 9.8:1 compression shifted at 7500-7700rpm.

Also, yes, that is a grind you hear on the 2-3 upshift. I've got 106k miles on the original tranny/clutch/pressure plate. The pressure plate has bent fingers and doesn't like to dis-engage fully sometimes, especially above stock redline. good thing i've got a newer tranny & clutch to go along with my built motor. :D

So that's what a grind sounds like? I've never heard a grind from the outside

the 1-2 shift drops me about 2500rpm. shifting at 7500 puts me at 5000.

the gears sound long b/c my car is slooowww. for now. it's decently quick for a bolton modified k20a3; I can put a hurting on a stock rsx-s, or even one with boltons, but a hondata + full bolton type-s will eat me. Until the new motor goes in. :D

Why such a big exhaust? Are you all motor or turbo? What all do you have on your car? It sounds very good. Does it always have a grinding problem or just when you really get on it? What year is it? Do you have any pictures to share?
I have an 02 thats why I am asking. Please list as many parts as you can.
thanks.

I hope I wasn't getting lumped into the hater category - I was just surprised how much time there was between shifts when shifting at redline.

The exhaust sounds pretty good but damn it's loud! I'd be looking over my shoulder every time I opened it up wondering a cop was in earshot.

uh that kind of makes the car less enjoyable under many conditions where you drive normally.

No one has an exhaust louder than my old one but even on a race car it's better to be as quiet as possible. It's funny how alot of drivers don't realize how much of a distraction the sound is or how draining it becomes

I would recommend something along this line in stainless like mine

I've heard many debates over the last week but still can't figure out what the loudest least ricy sound is. So far the Buddy Club3 and the Spoon seam to be them any others?

the tranny was getting really balky when I took that vid. last weekend the clutch got stuck. it's permanently engaged now and won't disengage. I can push the clutch pedal and watch the clutch fork move, but the clutch will not fully release.

sooooo, engine is coming out this week and the a2 bottom end is going in.

I never even got to put the 2nd muffler on.

though i am a fan of the exhaust sound rolling. i can't stand the sound of ricers as the drive through the parking lot at 3 mph. wailing their exhaust lol. oh ****, i used to be one of them. ~! i got the N1 with its sharp ***...doesn't get high decibals at low rpm's good for not waking the girlfriend as i sneak out the house lol. nice sound though man.
