Are engine codes the same for EF and EG's?

Are engine codes the same for EF and EG's?
I'm new to the EF's, and don't know the engine codes. I have 1 flash on the ecu, I am assuming that it is a faulty O2 sensor? When the check engine light comes on, it seems to add gas, and kill the low end power.
