Default Cam lock or Latch link harnesses? Feedback please!

I am trying to decide between the two styles of harnesses but have no actual experience. I would appreciate folks' input on comfort, convenience, etc. of the two styles.

it all really boils down to personal preference--both styles of harnesses should hold you in. some people say that it takes to long to buckle into a latch/link style harness but, once you're used to doing it, it's really not bad at all. i've heard of a few isolated incidents where camlocks have released while on the track but those all involved much older belts. the only other concern that i have with camlocks that some of them can be hard to turn to release when you're wearing gloves--if there was fluid or something on them, it could be even worse. but like i said, it's really your call--my only recomendation would be to go with a name-brand with a good reputation. some of our cars have camlocks while others have latch/link and i've gotten used to using both and i've never personally had a problem with either.

The cam lock gets my vote.

Camlocks for me. $110 for Sabelt (top notch) @ Racerwholesale.

Latch and link is kind of a pita, and the buckle is rather cumbersome.

My Racer Wholesale Sabelts just arrived...260 for two five-points with all the necessairy hardware to attach to a rollbar and click into the (included) eyebolts for the lower 3 points, plus 2 backing plates for the subs. Price as shipped. I'm more than happy...you just have to like red

EDIT: Duh, forgot the point: these are camlocks, the cams have a big, easy to grab lever...turn 90 degrees either way to unbolt. I've heard some people say that you can accidentally hit this, that it's not a "positive lock" like a latch-style...but it looks like you'd have to try to get them undone (not that it would be hard if you were trying, the lever is a fine size for a gloved hand).

Bump on this.

I need opinions on which would be better for 70% drag car, 30% street car.

I have a cam-lock on my drivers side and a latch on my passenger side. When I replace my belts, I'm going cam-lock on both sides. This is a 70% track car, 30% street (drive to track or drive to house to work on kaa for track).

I've never had the cam-lock accidentally open on me in 5 years. I find it faster to get into the camlock then the latch.

So camlock gets my vote too. I'll probably go bling Simpson too since their straps are nice and softy-softy.

I was a "traditionalist" up until I saw/operated a cam-lock style harness in person.

I will NEVER go back to a latch style harness. One of the biggest benefits I found was that when I am in all my gear, helmet on, gloves on....it is MUCH easier to strap in then with a latch style harness.

Cost? I paid $109 for G-Force from Saferacer.com....that is cheap IMO. Also, the latch system on this belt is designed very well and I would never worry about being able to disengage the belts, even if they were covered in grease, gas or any other fluid.

Hmm, well the guy thats going to build my rollbar said to go with Crow harnesses. Their camlock is 159 vs the latch which is 79. Is it really worth the difference?

Even more to think about. Pull up or pull down shoulder adjusters.

Pull away or pull towrd lap adjusters.
