I was wondering with all the thievery of ITR's what is the ratio of theft? You know how they say X out of 30 drivers will get into an accident what is the ratio?
Best i could find:
http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/...l.pdf
For those who are too lazy to click on the link(i know how lazy we all are) in 2001, we are ranked 3 for thefts. Beating us out were an intrepid and a metro. Our rate is every 1,000 produced, 10 are stolen.
Dunno how accurate it is but there it is.

some guy was trying to tell me it's one of the most stolen cars in the world, he said he read it in a recent mag. I highly doubt that, but I do agree they are stolen like crazy.

The CCC reports the ten most-stolen vehicles for 2003 are as follows:
1995 Saturn SL
1998 Acura Integra
1994 Saturn SL
1999 Acura Integra
1995 Acura Integra
1997 Acura Integra
1996 Acura Integra
1994 Acura Integra
2002 Mitsubishi Montero
2000 Honda Civic

Not sure about the most stolen car in the world. We have lots of non-US members around here, and no one has reported anything as bad as what we have here in the US.
But you can't argue that it's one of the most stolen cars in the US. In fact, given that the R is a limited edition car, let's work the numbers:
(assuming 4000 ITRs have made it to our shores)
4 x 10
------- = 1%
4000
Wow, that doesn't sound right. There's a 1% chance of an ITR being stolen? It's far higher than that, IMO. I think we had that many stolen in just last month, as reported on H-T.
I have some of my own %s:
1. If you live in WA, there's nearly a 100% chance of your ITR being stolen, unless it's garaged.
(even that is proving to be not very safe)
2. No matter where you live in the US, if your ITR is not garaged, or at least parked in a secure driveway, chances of it being stolen are > 50%.
Anyway, we've almost gone a week without a stolen ITR thread. I guess that's good news these days.

I guess to figure out the ratio, you would have to get all the numbers of ITR produced in the U.S.. Then you you would have to find out of how many we're produced how many were stolen. a little math here, a little math (I suck at math) there and maybe we could find out the number.

From what I understand after reading the article is ... this is JUST for the USA.
