IIRC, the default position is open. When the car is sitting still, they are open, but when you start the engine, they close until the correct time.

the downside of being open all the time is reduced fuel economy and poor low end performance.

When I unplugged mine, I didn't notice that big of a difference in performance, but I was getting about 50 miles less per tank of fuel.

When I plugged it back in though, I felt a big gain in daily-driving, partial throttle, low end acceleration.

search "iab" in the prelude archives and you will get plenty of results.

here's a pic in the mean time. It's the big circular thing to the left

so if i dont hook any of that stuff up even the vacuum lines will it always be open or do i at least need vacuum to it cause i kno it goes to the vacuum tank on the back of the motor but i need a new one of those

but if i dont have to hook it up and the secondaries will always stay on then im fine with that, if by not hooking them up they dont go on i dont want that so what will it do with nothing hooked up
