Stupid question: ITR vs VR4 at auto-x or small road course?

Here's the story. I've got a small local message board I'm apart of with a close group of friends. One of the newer members is the owner of a supposedly heavy modified VR4 and every thread of late comes down to how superior his VR4 is over everything. He's a pretty smart guy from what it seems but young and waay to cocky with way to much money and completely ignorant to any car besides his own.
He says that no Integra could ever keep up with him in any aspect. It eventually came down to him challenging me and I told him that we should meet at an auto-x but he said that he won't do it, but will challenge my times on a roadcourse. Thankfully Alabama has a small little 1 mile roadcourse.
I know it sounds stupid but I think with a nice suspension setup and some 15X7's with some 225 Hoosiers I think the ITR could give his high whp VR-4 hell on a tight road course.
Any of you had any roadracing/track event experience with VR-4's?
I don't want to prove to him that ITR's are better, but would just like to open his eyes up to being open minded towards others.

Just show him the stats for all the autoX finishes... I don't recall any VR4s
and yes a R should beat him around a tight cornered course, watch out for the long straights...

just like any other turbo car, they can be made to be very fast. they are pigs mostly stock though. if hes not talking **** he will probably eat you on straights. but i dont recall seeing one handle all that well. depends how modded he is though. and if hes young and supposedly has all this power, he will probably have a hard time putting the power down to the pavement and you might do better than you think. your R is no slouch. be sure to post the results and video if you can
Yeah, someone i know has a modded 3000GT VR4. They are pretty heavy cars and wont be able to keep up to well on turns with an R, but if his is heavily modded (new turbos etc.) when he hits full boost on a straight, be ready. Over all, you should beat him.

Assuming it's a 3000GT VR4, that thing weighs over 3700 lbs. It's about 1200 lbs heavier than ours.
It's to your favor if you compare lap times for a whole session, not just ONE best lap. His car is gonna die out on brakes and tires much sooner than yours.

where's this course at? Do you mean TGP? As for who will win... how much track experience does he have? How much do you have? I hate to say it, but this is just benchracing and probably won't give you any definative answer. Just pull an Opie and say "GTFO" to the guy everytime he posts

If its TGP, there is no room for a big heavy VR4 to get up to speed.

and that track is ~2 mi. he said it's a 1mi track, which would seem really tiny to me unless it's like a dirt oval or something.

I feel i should give my two cents since i have came across a few vr4's around town. Straight a ways any heavily modded turbo car will get you straight up.
The way he sounds is, he has no driving skills and will most likely come to this excuse when he loses to you on the road course, "My car is too fast for the course. I couldn't keep it on the track."
In other words, he sucks at driving and cannot go but in a straight line. I hate people like this, straight line racing is nothing, real drivers take curves at 100.
The r will win straight up in the road/auto-x course. As for straight racing, from a roll 60+ you should get him if he can't drive. From a stop, if he spins at all off the line, you'll get him.
Post vids though

Only VR-4's that I've seen at the track blew up. ...but that was after penpen and fso_BamBam passed them. </TD></TR></TABLE>
Any mistu i've seen on or off the track that was turbo'd has blown up. Kinda like the conquest the other night that was doing donuts in the parking lot. Let's just say, you hear wheels squealing, then POP!

Thanks for the responses. We are trying to get a little track event together and yes the track is TGP which is only 1.35 miles. Very short straights. Anyway, I doubt he'll show if we do ever get enough people to commit.

When I said heavily modded I mean supposedly in the neighborhood of +600whp or so. The kids definitely got money (anyone who has a Porsche 911 and restored 69 Camaro in highschool must).
I actually figured the big power setup would hurt him anyway. I doubt he'd run full boost on the track and by the time the larger turbos are spooled up he'd already have to be braking for the next corner.

I think you have him by the goat hairs.
Personal experience: test drove one when I was in the military, was thinking of buying one. I remember opening it up on the freeway and it was pretty impressive for a 19 year old kid, but it did feel a bit pigish and that all wheel steering ****...I couldn't get used to it.
On a different note: Why waste the energy trying to prove yourself to a teenage asshat? It makes no sense and you seem like a pretty mature, level headed guy.
Aloha,
Brandon

Just trying to spark up a little debate.
Trust me I'm definitely not dropping cash on a track event just to prove a point to some guy on a message board.
Ok maybe Expo
