Car was sitting for a bit, go to get it back on the road and now the brakes are all messed up. They are really soft until the last inch or so of pedal then stiffen up and work. I can drive but I dont think its *that* safe? I tried bleading the brakes and got no results. Would this be the brake booster or mast cyl. causing the problem?

how are your pads? low pedal feel could be caused by your brake pads also. it could be your master cylinder too

 

probably master cyl same thing happen to me was pretty scary specially with people in the car

 

You said that the car was sitting for a long time. Check your brake pads and rotors. If there was a lot of rust build up on the rotors the it would have transfered into the brake pad. This is why your pedal feels bad. Try changing out the front rotors and brake pads first. If it were your master cyl. you would have to pump the pedal to get any feel, not to mention bleeding them would have been almost impossible.
