Default Cage building and pricing questions

Before any clowns get on me for searching, I did a few and didn't find exactly what I was looking for.

I want a 6 point cage in my 93 HB. What should I expect to pay? What specs do I need? Will it need to be custom or are they're kits out there that just need to be welded in?

I need to have my seat in there for the cage don't I? (so that the cross beam can be correct for my shoulder straps?)

Any and all help would be great.

When I got my tubing for a 6pt in a EG it came in 20ft sections. I got 2 (40 ft total) and it was under $150. Thats for 1 3/4" .083 wall Chromoly. You can also just buy one from Full-Race with everything you'll need and weld it in. You can do it yourself if you know how to TIG Chromoly or have a shop do it. Most places around here charge $800 to do a complete 6 pt including the tubing.

Agree'd, your in FL might as well drop it off and have them weld it all up for you. He can obviously do other cages that aren't on the site if you choose as well.

I called and spoke to Mark. He can do it and the price is very fair. What's the big difference in mild steel vs Chromoly in terms of weight? I'm looking at a 4 pt with door guards.

It's only about 250 more, but I want to know if it's worth it.

Thanks again!

Here are some pics of a Mazworx installed cage in my Integra that is powdercoated black.Includes harness bar to bolt in your seat harnesses. The texture on the powdercoating is really nice like factory texture. The cage fits really really snug.

This kit (that I'm getting) is the drag kit and should be completely welded minus the door bar which will have a swing on it. (I'm a "big boy".)

I've been doing some research here in norther cali local shops. It's running anywhere from $900-$1200 for 6-point cage.

Good luck!

I just picked up my Supra from Mazworx today and the cage came out awesome. I sent it over to my paint guy to have it painted but will post some pictures after it's done. Was in and out of his shop in 2 days and that's with me giving him short notice.

They will not get pass certification, but for local races and once in a while most places wll let you slide. Hey better to have one than one not at all.
