My speedo cable broke at the speed sensor after a swap, Now the ecu sends out a code 17 which is the speed sencor;is that because the cable isn't there for the ecu to pick up the signal. The engine light doesn't come on till the car is up to temp. TIA.....89 Coupe

Yeah probably. I would replace the cable and speed sensor if need be.
