ATTENTION: autolock users
I used the autolock on my type R and I was wondering if it's a good idea to put it on the brake pedal instead of the clutch. I know that if you put it on the clutch, it prevents the car from starting. For my car, it's very hard to put the autolock on the clutch so I put it on the brakes instead. Would this make my car easier to steal because the thieves can depress the clutch, start the car, and be able to slow the car down without using the brake pedal? The thief can either downshift or use the ebrake to slow down. And for users that put the autolock on the clutch, do you angle the autolock or is it put on straight? Thanks
I always put mine on my clutch pedal. It is just simple geometry man, you have to calculate the angle of approach and then divide that by the pedal's constant.
It is easy man, just approach from an angle and straighten it out after.

it would stop some thieves that are not as good at stealing cars as others.
but for the profesionals ... our cars dont stand a chance, in my opinion I would still want this because it is another layer and yes it could make the difference in your car getting stolen or not.
For the best protection in my opinion get a good alarm with a back-up battery, and install a kill switch on your car, HIDE IT WELL.

just leave it on the clutch. I had it on my brake pedal the first time my car was stolen. The thieves got in a accident with the autolock on the brake though. Idiots tapped into vtec on a rainy *** day and my tires were bald. I had new tires in my garage i was gonna get put on after work.
isnt there one that locks both the clutch and brake now? i lock the clutch myself with the one i have.
on a side note, i attached some rubber to the pointy end of the autolock that presses against the carpet because i noticed the carpet getting mighty thin...i caught it before it left a permanent hole from the lock being used over and over the same spot.

i put it on the clutch peadal...however if they want your car bad enough they will take it. Ive heard of instances where the thief has cut through the pedal and bypassed the autoloc... im thinking of getting 2.. one for the brake and another for the clutch as well as removing the steering wheel and ecu. the things you gotta do to keep your car yours.

I guess from your reply you think thats a stupid question, but how the hell should I know, I could park my car on the street unlocked for a week and not loose an ounce of sleep. My area is beyond safe and no one even looks twice at a PY R. I know jack **** about "layering" and security because its never an issue.

If you knew my situation, you would be singing a different note. If someone is behind me in my area, you know it, no one call "follow" you home w/o you noticing. And yes.....I do live in not getting my R stolen USA
