Default Wheel hop?

I got a problem with wheel hop. I thought that it was partly because my tires were shot. but i recently got new tires and I still get hop when accelerating hard off the line. I think it is most likely related to a front suspension problem I have(something is bent, getting it checked out soon), but I was wondering if it could also be related to running the H&R Sport springs with the STOCK shocks? You think it might be resolved if I get aftermarket shocks or a full coilover setup?

I get the same problem as well. I guess this is not a problem, it is a "feature", since so many people get the same behavior. You can instal stiffer motor mounts to get rid of it, but you'll get more vibration at XX.

I'd look at the shocks and consider replacing the motor mounts. Motor mounts in particular are one way to significantly reduce wheel hop. Also consider the Z10 Radius arms. As you know they are two components to wheel hop, a vertical and a horizontal. The shocks will help prevent the vertical, the motor mounts and radius arms the horizontal.

Its called too much tire pressure. too stiff sidewalls can also cause this.

Ive tried different tire pressures, from about 24psi to 35psi. I think Im gonna give motor mounts a try, after I can get a tech to inspect my suspension.
It definitely kills my 1/4mile times, because I dont like to gun it when it hops like that because it feels like its gonna break something.

the front ones are easy, the back one is kinda a bitch, but most people that I know either installed only the front inserts or the back insert only, with all 3 inserts, your car will rattle like a ****
I had only the front ones in my old car before it got stolen. I felt a big difference.
My new hybrid have all 3 insert, cars rattle really bad but I guess its well worth it to sacrifice the comfort for performance.

good luck !!

I put the front motor mounts on my car and they are a bitch unless you unbolt the mounting brackets. I have not done the rear yet, but i will do that on saturday when i drop the tranny for a FD swap. As for the vibration, its not as bad as i thought it would be.

As for wheel hop, i have both the Z10's and the front motor mounts and I still get mad wheel hop. I'm trying to find tune the Z10 bars so hopefully that will get rid of it.
