M&H DOT's vs Radial Tires Testimonial
Well since in the last few weeks there have been people asking about the M&H DOT's and there performance i thought id share my experience from this past weekend. Ok the car is a 99 coupe making about 400whp. Im not gonna say the brand of the radial that use to be on the car but will say the size of 205\50-15. Its a very popular tire among the import racing community.
Now in the past we have tuned this car on the street traction in 3rd is obsolete and 4th doesnt seem to want to hook any better. But thats not the bad part. Now in 3rd with the wheel spin the car tends to wonder around. Now when it hooks up in the top of 4th the car pulls violently from side to side. It gets to the point that its 1 scary to drive 2 Dangerous and 3 uncontrollable.
Now this past weekend i borrowed Cunhas M&H's and we went out to tune the car. Ok so first pull we try 2nd get a some wheel spin. SO bang 3rd third and **** the car actually hooks. Put 4th and the thing is planted to the ground and going straight as an arrow. And thats something that this car usually never does. So i guess these tires must be good from what i see. So later after the tune is dialed in we go to a local street and drop the pressure a little and launch the car and the things just goes. Hooks better than any tire ive ever tried on this car besides a set of 25X8.7's. And the beauty of it all is the car goes straight as and arrow everytime.
Now some are gonna asked about driveability. Well i drove to work today with these tires and dont notice any difference from the "other" tires that are on the car. They drive fine and actually dont follow the grooves in the road the usually pulls the steering wheel every which way. Making the car easy to drive around in. All in all id say that the M&H DOT's are a great tire hands down.
-John @ M&H for a great tire for the import street car guys.

Now they are not legal because they are bias ply but they are street legal. Considering i got pulled over by state police with them saturday night and they looked and just grinned.
just wondering what the size of the m&h's were. i myself am also looking for something that will hook well with around 400whp on the street. good info, and John is the man

A BIG THANK YOU for the KIND words
E Town DSM. I have been trying to tell everybody for 3-years about my M&H Dot tires and now the word is out. The Dot that E Town DSM was talking about was my P235/60-15 = 7.5/25.4-15.

Chris never ran the car on these tires just borrowed them for some tuning pulls. Last year on the old setup car went 11.51@121.
John no problem you have a great tire here and i highly recommend them to anyone.

you need to clarify... this "unnamed radial"? is it some shitty all seaons radial? performance radial? or nitto/bfg drag radial? I have some radials that pull a 2.3 w/ LSD... why dont u just tell us what tire you are comparing them to.
How is the treadlife on this M&H tire? John?

Great review
I have dealt with John at M&H and he is a great guy. I recommend these tires all the time and they will be on the new project here soon

I'm going to assume they were BFG's.

It was a azenis but i have seen the safe torque steer on bfg's, mt's, and nittos. I guess its the tire construction. These M&H's are over a year old and are only starting to loose tread now. And this is with at least 2-3 nigths of racing on them a week plus countless highway pulls. They out last bfg's by a long shot. We might get some snow tomorrow ill report back how they perform in the snow
Last time I went to the track, I was using the BFG's and did not really notice the car going left or right. As a matter of fact, it was going down the track as straight as the bullet. I trapped little over 140mph and 139mph. But I agree w/ you though on the M&H DOT tires, They are are sh#t.
I'm thinking of getting a pair soon.

John, you ever thought about throwing equal sized BFGs and M&H Dot approved tire on a <13 second a h-t members car, someone that people know, and making like 5 passes on each tire, tyring different pressures to be fair, then posting up the 60's?
I will be buying these as my next tire
***edit*** I just got them  https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1152845

Hi Cyphear; Lets wait untill our M&H Drag Radials come out to compare. If we used our Dot's with the pias ply it would not be equal.

Hi teamXXrob; My P235/60-15 are a bias ply and not a radial.
