I went and bought an after market 02 sensor from kragen and the colors do not match up to the factory colors on the plug. I just wanted to know which is the ground wire, which is the signal wire and which is the heater wires? thanks in advance.

Are you running OBD1? Hmm What color are the wires you hae on the O2 sensor?

 

yes im running obd1 and the wires are 2 black wires, 1 green and 1 white.

 

did you look in the box? Every universal o2 sensor I've had to install had the instructions on how to match it up in the box & they are correct. If I remember correctly, it's the 2 white on the harness to the 2 black on the plug, 1 black from the harness to the white on the plug, and the green to whatever the other one is.

 

that is the way i had it and it made me question if they were correct with their info because my check engine still falshes the 02 sensor signall. should the cell automatically go away or do i have to let it break in in order for the sensor to start working?
