Default J's Racing Intake

ok, so i started a thread about the spoon snorkel, and now i found this...

http://bulletproofautomotive.c...=3543 *BLING*

anyone know if this is ? i wanna get it, nice and cheap, and tight looking, but the same questions apply.
1) Power gains?
2) water safe?

any thoughts will help, thanks

that is also a snorkle... the round box up top goes around the stock filter.. so instead of having the box you have this snorkle thing aiming air directly to the filter...

MUGEN AND JS ARE SOME OF THE BES PARTS TO GET FOR THE COLD AIR. THESE PARTS ARE NO JOKE. I HAVE THE MUGEN AND LUV IT. THE SPOON SNORKLE DOESNT COMPARE IMO.
ITS WATER SAFE AND DOES PROVIDE GAINS. YOU CANT JUS BE OUT GUNNING YOUR CAR IN THE RAIN

you pay for what you get... j's=quality and the value will remain the same
im gettin the new js header and 70rr ti exh
so to me its definitely worth it. to some it may not be....to each his own

problem with j's and mugen's intake...if you compare $ spent per hp gain...AEM V2 outdoes it

okay and then again aem doesnt wind tunnel test there products or engineer them like mugen
we are talking engineers and students. mugen or aem.......hmmmmmmm
let me think, oh i choose mugen gianed horse power and lost weight(5lbs) and
i dont have to worry about the rain! i also dont have heat soak like an aem intake(piping)
if i thought aem could perform like mugen then i woulda bought it for 1000 less . Im sure js racing wouldnt have developed an intake and saved all the money from engineering and bought a aem .
dc header or js racing you tell me?

the filter on a stick works, it makes power, it might not look as nice as the J's and mugen, but it makes power.

As for the mugen, J's etc, they work too but it's hard to show their gains on a dyno with only a fan to simulate moving air. The do look nice tho.

I agree.(i may have come off wrong)
But i didnt go into buying an intake based on jus horsepower alone . although most do, i didnt. This pretty much comes from the design influences mugen carries jus as js does. To me i know i got something thats worth it. dont get me wrong i had an aem cold air on my hybrid and loved it, but then mugen to me is jus right. From amuse-asm-mugen-j's, these are parts i think of as real race parts and not as jus some common parts seen on a plane jane car

i pretty much read that people were happy with the snorkel and the stock airbox modified with a Spoon air filter.

I THINK MOST PEOPLE FORGET THAT THESE INTAKES ARE DESIGNED FOR MONVEMENT NOT TO BE STILL IN FRONT OF A FAN

i'd love to have the mugen or j's racing intake. granted if i had tons of money, i'd have no problem buying it. i'm on a college student budget. its just that from dyno's i have seen. to me its not worth the huge price. but then i also realize mugen, j's, etc.. have put a lot of R&D into their products so they must recoup that. so price is something i understand, just wish it was a lil under 1k

luckly i found a good job and now i can afford these parts. this was all jus my own personal opinion, nothing more, and im not knocking the aem. im simply jus trying to help a fellow s2k owner out
let me know if i can help u w/ anything, and good luck w/ school.
damn i jus remembered i need to go back

The snorkle intake showed in the link seems like it wouldn't go all the way down like the spoon one, does a mugen front bumper needed for the one linked to, or something with a cut in the front bumper like the mugen bumper? or am i wrong?

order you stuff from the right folks and you wont wait 3 months. For J's goods, go through YASU at atsusa. It took 5 days to get my j's intake when I ordered it from him.

tested it on the dyno, it wasn't very much different than other CAI like AEM or K&N. It made power over stock. What can I say, it's a beautiful intake. I sold it about a year ago
