Last Resort ?
Here's the deal. In the middle of my swap, i got my left axle arm to come off. But my problem is at the right axle arm. It won't budge off the balljoint. I tried EVERYTHING i can think of. Took advices from experts also. Here's what i did.
I dont wanna quit the swap. I put alot of money into it. Buying new cherry picker + air compress + all the air tools and nuts. Put about 700 into tools!!!
I tried lubbing the balljoint, wd40 it, slide two screw drivers under it and lifting it out, Tried jacking up the lower axle arm and sliding a socket wrench under it at the ball joint and then stomping the crap out of the brakes. ( got this idea from a movie ) I got so pissed, i ripped the balljoint rubber lub out, broke the ring that went around it. i will replace it balljoint later on, I just want that axle to come oFF!.
Asking for help from ht pros. I really don't wanna quit. But if i can't do this.!!! it leaves me with no choice!? If i'm not able to take out the axle, I won't be able to do further swap!!! the car is in fawless conditioin. hate to part it ouT!!!!
ANd yes i need to take the axle ouT! No choice. I have been given options to unbolt the motor and leave the tranny out? what will i do with a stock tranny????

Here is what you do to remove the LCA from the frame for the purpose of pulling out the axle without breaking the balljoint. Remove every connection EXCEPT the balljoint and the LCA will swing free, this includes the chassis mount. Any questions?

But thanks for replying.</TD></TR></TABLE> It'll work, trust me on that point as it is how I did my swap this summer and every day that I needed to remove the suspension, put it back together to move the chassis I had to unbolt/bolt LCA back to everything.

In this order:
1) Remove #18
2) Remove 2 @ #19
3) Remove #15
4) Remove #17

that tool usually works for me, just put the 2 arms around the lower control arm then center the screw section on to the bolt of the ball joint. thats how ive always done it.. or you could jsut do what he stated above

That is how I do it..
It sounds like more work than it is worth
but how much time have you wasted already?

Thats what we do, except it's easier on a lift. You did hit it with stuff right? Otherwise, any of the other suggestions above are good.

Tie Rod end remover(ball joint popper or pickle fork, as ealier mentioned. That is what the tool is made for. It is like a fork. You slide it in between the ball joint and control arm, hit with hammer and it pops right out.
And since the boot is already gone (
), you don't have to worry about ripping it! Pickle fork always works for me, but I'm no good and always rip the boot lol. I always whack them with a hammer while pushing up on the spindle before anything.

why dont you just buy a ball joint seperator (the ones that look like a tuning fork) there cheap and useful and WILL always be used over and over...Welcome to world of EF's
If anything can go wrong, will go wrong 10x worse lol

Problem fixed. All i know is, the lower left axle arm is not coming off. No matter what.!!! So i unscrew the two bolts on the engine bay and took out the whole complete UPPER ARMS. and got it out that way.

Pickle forks are usually used when the balljoint is being replaced, its assumed you will ruin the boot and its luck if u don't lol. Even on a bad boot you can get a good 5k miles outta the balljoint if u watch it, just get to it as soon as its convienient because removing the axle to replace the balljoint is a bigger PITA then popping the joint in my opinion.
