Default removing paint from polyurethane bumper

what is the easiest way?

guy at the hardware store says regular paint thinners will, not only remove the paint, it will destroy the polyurethane. (my front bumper material)

what kind of solvent do you use to remove just the paint and not the polyurethane?

Thanks!!
