APG i asked them about it and they said if i pulled my own motor it would be 700 to install a new engine plus the price of the b16....

I would recomend ONE6 (specialize in hondas) in Arlighton Heights, another shop is Top Setup in Palatine (just opened up but seem to be ait), could try Garage Kwai (they specialize in sorts of car, right next to ONE6).
These are the shops I know that people like to go to, and I know alot of people from the burbs and chicago itself.

I think CarBoutique does it and it looks like they know what they’re doing, but from what I’ve seen, they look expensive.

yeah they are not the best in honda work, but they are usually really good in nissan/toyota stuff. Good tunning too. Personally it's not my favorite shop.
ONE6 will prolly charge you like $2200-2600 for the motor (I think don't know their prices) and something around $500-800 for the install.
I buy my own **** and install it so I can't really tell you. All I got to say that they pretty good shop and I never heard of anybody having a problem with them. Everything that happened they took care of ASAP.

I am VERY disappointed with ONE6 (The one not too far from Rolling Meadows).
I had them do my shocks and they messed them up.
In all fairness, I was satisfied, initially, but only until the first winter. They removed my dust cover, and instead of using the bump stops provided in the kit, they used the O.E.M. ones cut in half. The the winter came, the salt eat at my shocks, dirt got in them, and soon after, it was all just a pile of scrap.
I recently redid my shocks (in my garage) and couldn't be happier. Got a set of Tokico shocks, springs, Megan control arms, a set of sway bars and tie bars.
I guess what I'm saying is that they cut corners and do a half fast job.
P.S.
This was a couple of years ago, so hopefully they've improved.

My friend could do engine swaps. He does a damn good job at it and makes the engine bay look clean as hell. I definitely go to him cuz he has done engine swaps for hondas and toyotas.

i dont think you can re-use the dust covers when the car is lowered because it wont fit inbetween the spring because its to tall. if thats the case blame chicago whether.

One6 is alright they are swapping a sr20 into my friends 240 right now... theyve done clutch work , OBD1>Obd2 conversion wiring, swap wiring none of them had ill affects and all were performed very nicely....
Top setup seems to be the midsts of an awesome shop.. very nice people very good knowledge and a k20 eg swap they did themselves.. definitely would trust them for being a new shop..
Garage kwai says they specialize in honda swaps and stuff but i never go there and i never will.. atmosphere is terrible.. people are jerks.. and from what i hear they dont do the best work...
Car boutique... Beefier pep boys.. thats what i think when i go there...... wouldnt trust them with anything but maybe installing a shiftknob or something
evolution motorsports in arlington heights... seems like a un knowledgeable shop... we went in there and asked how much a SR20 swap for my friends 200sx ser was and they said 4100 FOR JUST THE ENGINE!!!!. a sr20 FWD can be had for under 2k.......... ill never go there for anything
i hear whipfactory is awesome theyre kinda far though... i think its in plainfield illinois? correct me if im wrong.. ive never been there but i hear they do awesome work... and they tune hondata well.
insight on the chicago area shops.. pm me and ill give you more info if you want

When I re-did my shocks, I bought a set of stock dust cover (a little over $100 from the dealer) and they fit perfectly on a lowered car.
Tokico struts
Tokico springs
Generic tie bars
Honda sway bars
Honda Dust covers
Modified Honda bump stops
Megan racing control arms
I think that’s all (at lest all that I can remember)

First off, what car is this going in?
NO shop is perfect. Each shop will have there LOYAL customers. I've heard this and I've heard that...blah blah blah. I've personally heard some **** about ALL the shops in the Chicagoland area. So now what?
For Hondas:
Garage Kwai-Arlington Heights-has a Dyno and is ASE Certified
One6 -Arlington Heights
Factory 5 Motorsports-Schaumburg-and is ASE Certified
