Ask $20k and let them make offers on your caR. Don't start too low.
If there is a serious buyer, they will make a valid offer.

Yeah, that is a big difference. For some reason http://www.kbb.com won't give me a quote so I'm forced to get an idea of what the caR is worth on here.
I gave mine away last year FBP 2000 with 42K sold it for 17k. So if you get 17K you'll be doing good. I would start high for sure 18.5K

Have you tried http://www.NADA.com or http://www.edmunds.com ?

You forget that the car is five years old and only putting on 14,400 a year is pretty good these days.
what's the national avg, somewhere around 15-17k a year?

I would rather start around a FIRM price rather than $20,000 and barter down from there. I will have a time span of about a week to sell the car and I'd want to sell the caR for a fairly straight forward asking price and remain firm on that. Sounds like I should be starting around 18,000?

That might hurt. If you want a higher price (which I think it would be well worth) you might need to wait for someone who's willing to pay that much. The lowballers always seem to strike first. Good luck with the sale though, and I think the $18.5K range is a great place to start, based solely on milage.

One week? Good luck. You'll almost have to give the car away to complete a sale in one week. It's a rare car that only a few people are after. That usually means that you will sit on it for a while...

The R may be a nice car and conisder "rare" by some now in most cases, but you must remember that there are a lot of cars out there that aren't too bad that can be bought for a little more and comes with a factory warranty.
