after i fill in my sidemoldings holes i plan on painting the car white again. my question is what brands of paint are out there that are really good quality. im not looking for like show quality 10,000+ but something really nice and glossy. what brands did some of you guys use for your car?

well first off...paint isn't what makes a car shine...the Clear Coat does that. But as far as good quality paint brands go - I'd say go with either PPG or Dupont. At the body shop my dad owns (and I partially work at)...we use PPG. It sprays really well and covers awesome.
oh alright, since ive been doing all the body work to my car myself ive decided to paint it myself as well. i have access to a paint booth. anywho, how much clear coat do i use?? how much is 1 gallon of PPG and/or Dupont. do you guys think 1 gallon is enough for my whole car. im doing the exterior and door jams only
I have to say that my favorite paint is R-M Diamont. It is ultra high quality and is a polyester based paint so it resists fade like no other. The down point is that it is expensive.
If you want ultra glossy I use R-M DC5100 high solids clear, but my father has been using(and I am going to try it this year) Matrix MS-42 clearcoat and it looks great, affordable and is very easy to wet sand and buff out.
