Default Honda lifetime fuel filter? (searched already)

Called a mechanic at honda about replacing a fuel filter that I cant get off of my 96 Si, the Honda mechanic told me that my lude has a lifetime fuel filter??? I don't think this is true, can anyone verify this?? My car has 113,xxx miles and the fuel filter looks pretty old so I wanted to change it.

that doesnt sound right because when i was in for my 60k mile service at the dealer, one of the things they chaged was the fuel filter.

lifetime fuel filters only exists at lazy dealerships

while the chances of one getting clogged are slim, they however are not lifetime parts, and can get clogged if you have a fuel system issue

heed this warning if your car is over ten years old and has over 100k + miles then replace the fuel filter but have the dealership do it -- it is almost impossible to remove the fuel pipe from the filter if it has been on that long and the mechanics know this-- that is why he told you it is a lifetime part. Then when they damage the fuel pipe it will be on there tab and not yours ...

i wonder if by lifetime, tehy mean a rebuildable one, like you can pop it open and replace just the filter element, and not the entire body
