tomorrow i'm going to be installing my type r header, 2.5" carsound cat, 2.5" resonator after the cat to keep the 2.5" consistency and then go with 2.25" piping all the way back to the 2.25" magnaflow straight thru muffler. i know i'm bottlenecking it with the 2.25" piping but as far sound will i be okay... cause right now i have a 2.5" straight pipe with the resonator and muffler, no cat. do you think 2.5" piping with the cat and resonator will be loud? how much of a difference if i get 2.25" thanks

I wouldn't think it would be loud. Depends on the Muffler. I am running a 4-1, 2.5 collector header to a straight pipe to an RS*R ex-mag and its very very quiet.

if you DO have a muffler now and ARENT going to have one when your done... its going to be louder.. as far as restrictions.. as long as your not trying to make a bunch of power it should be fine

 

 

i just got my 2.5" cat put on and i could not be happier and i can actually breath a sigh of relief. I have a type r style header that i got from street imports (very good clearance and for the price can't beat it i don't think... i have the 2.5" car sound cat great install by mufflex performance (www.mufflex-performance.com) out in trenton NJ. they did a nice clean job but have the worst customer service... their guys are just always pissed and had an attitude. and they over priced the **** out of me but i had no choice since every muffler shop around here sux... i have a 2.5" resonator/glasspack and a magnaflow straight thru... no raspyness and great sound... thought i'd let u guys know 2.5" piping ofcourse.
