they will prob. take your car away and if they find out its a stolen motor then, i think they will pull out the motor and give it back to the owner of the motor and you get your shell back. but you would prob. have to do somethin to get it back from them.

Where did the notion of a stolen motor come from? He merely said swapped...

Nothing wrong with that (legally) if you register it, smog it, take care of the annoying little garbage like that...

Since when did a swap automatically mean stolen?

If you swap your motor and don't smog and certify it with the Cal State Referee, you can be cited for an illegal swap and you'll have to visit the ref or pay the bail, which is over 100 dollars on the first offense. You can have your car impounded, it's at the officers discretion.
If you want to certify your swap, you need a motor thats the same year, or newer than your chasis, with all of the correct smog equipment connected, in working order. Your vehicle needs to pass a regular smog test on the rollers, with a sniffer, as well as the Referee's visual.

For more info, search, it's been covered at least 80 times in the EG forum.

You're correct. The motor needs to be the same year, or newer than the chasis it's going into.

ticket, to inspections you go. fail. no longer road legal.

That is if you didnt go spec by spec by the law of ur state.

The cops here wouldnt know a swapped motor if it bitch slapped him. or her.

Glory of small town cops in the south. If its not a domestic, they dont have a clue.

I fart in your general direction.... by the way their are a few cops on this site that are honda enthusiasts so keep your opinions to yourself... you are probly one of those guys that gets booked for speeding and then gets pissed when the cop gives you a ticket...A=you were speeding(which is breaking the law) B= his job is to enforce the law in conclusion watch the cop bashing.
