go 15" for a better, cheaper tire selection and slightly 'more comfortable' ride

or

go 16" for stiffer sidewalls, slightly harsher ride and a more 'aggressive' look

If you are all out performance, then get the 15's for their lighter weight. 16's offer a wider tire for better handling, with a SLIGHT sacrifice in weight. I went with the 15's because I'm a weight reduction *****. I have em on my 4dr GSR and love them. Very good rims.

Bigger rims doesnt necessarily mean more weight. You can get lightweight forged rims which are much lighter than standard alloys and stronger too.

Yes but he is not asking about OTHER rims, he is asking about Rota Slips specifcally, so yes the bigger he goes the heavier they will be.

I went with flat black 15" Slips, tire size of 205/50/15.

Just want to add that my 15inch bronze slipstream with a ToyoT1S tire weighed in at 27lbs on a bathroom scale. My stock GSR fat five with a Kumho712 weighed in at 36.5lbs.

did anybody ever weight and compare the 2? with tires.
i think that the weight would not be that different given that taller side wall=more rubber, and rubber is pretty heavy also.

But with the lack of of 16 inch tires,,, it's almost a waste.

Either one is fine, but the popular ITR 16" size, 215-45-16, is only made by a few people.

You can actually get 15x7 Slips in 5x114, now. DRFlickner had a run made for his company, and I think he still has some. You might want to contact him directly about that...I can't even remember the name of his company right now.

Everybody makes 205-50-15 tyres, so you know you'll always be able to get something that meets your needs, and even if you start racing there's still 225-45-15 readily available.

Hey Tony you can't slam the 16's like you can the 15's I'm tuckin tires while it sits in the driveway.

Anyways. I have the 15x6.5 with Azenis and love them. GREAT street set up for a secondary fun car if you have a beater/daily.... or for the hardcore who drive on Azenis in everything.

Get the 15x6.5 with 205/50-15's for a great daily driven more comfortable ride and then another set or some K-1's with V710's or the like for the track

What are the wheels for? daily? racing? auto-x? Be more specific and people can help you out more effectively.

now, when people always say 15s are lighter, are they lighter after you put tires on?

sidewall on a 205 40 16 tire is 3.2" for a total height of 22.5"

sidewall on a 205 50 15 tire is 4" and total height of 23.1"

im assuming that that extra 1.6" of rubber on the 15" tire will more then make up for the couple pounds of extra weight that a 16" wheel weighs

On an Integra you should be running 205/45/16 on 16" wheels. Although, some people like the 215/45/16 Azenis, even though they are "too big"

Oh and here's DRFlickner's thread for JLB https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=697937

205/50/15 for me on 15x6.5 Slipstreams

Bigger wheels might weigh the same, but the weight is still on the outside of the wheel.

Hello,
I just ordered 16x7 Slipstreams and I can't figure out what tires to go with. I've read this post and many others regarding tire size but still can't figure out which tires are better. I've narrowed it down to 3, can you please inform me on which is better.......205/45/16......205/40/16.......215/40/16? Thanks guys.

kinda off topic, but doesn't the JDM 98specR have 225/45/16's?
