i have a b16 rex with exhaust and intake and now i want a header. its mostly a daily driver but will see the track a few times hopefully. i think i want a 4-2-1 SS and i think that im trying to decide between DC, comptech and megan. ive got about $400 so the comptech is getting close, probably have to be used. so do i get used comptech, new DC or new megan and ctr cams?

 

any opinions?

The new design they have doesnt rust out like the older models..

I thought you were going turbo..Dont waste your money on a header if you plan to turbo it..

well im thinking either the DC 4-2-1 2 piece or the comptech 4-2-1 1 piece.

 

get the megan racing and the ctr cams, get their racing 4-1, its a really nice header similar to the dynamic autosports one, and with that header and some ctr cams you will notice a nice gain of power

 

What you want is the Tri-Y 4-2-1 which is a 1 piece 4-2-1 with 2.5" collector like the Apexi,Comptech, Spoon, Toda, DC Sports 421 1 piece.
I wouldnt recommend a 4-1 on a b/h swapped CRX, a ******* skid plate wouldnt help you at all with a 4-1. The only good side about a 4-1 on the crx is you never have to worry about your oil pan cause the header will proctec it

unless this is a full out drag car 4-1 shouldnt be used DUE to clearance and daily driving issues.

 

ya i know i definately want a 4-2-1. i just don't know which brand to go with thats why i have this thread. so far its almost like each person is telling me different. maybe i would get a better responce by posting this as a poll?

 

polls are biased. i would get a DC sports 4-2-1 1 piece off ebay and keep it moving. everyone will tell you to buy expensive toda/spoon/apex headers even though these are good i feel like they are overpriced.

 

i am pretty sure the apex header doesnt have a 2.5 inch collector

 

for about 385 you can get the jdm itr header the best header in my opion for a street car.

There is a seller on here with exact ITR replica headers for something like $140-150... I'd definatley get the ITR header over the Megan or DC though.

 

i ended up with a comptech 4-2-1. found a good deal on it used. it should do the trick

 

ever thought about the pro-fab header?
looks pretty good to me but im not sure about the performance.
