LS Vtec Questions
A buddy of mine is doing a LS/Vtec in his EG and I had a couple questions...
1. If I put in the GSR girdle, windtray, and oil pick-up am I able to rev to 8200 safely?
2. Would D15 Injectors work?

the rod bolts would also need to be changed, and im not positive but i think theres a good deal of modification needed to use the GSR girdle in an ls block. not positive tho

i have a ls block and am ls vtec turbo, if i would of knew a gsr block with an ls crank/rods was best i would of went that way instead much more reliable beacause of the girdle and oil squirters i think it is...clear me up people
i'm going ls/vtec turbo shortley, I've done quite a good bit of research and have found many different opinions. If your only going to 8200 rpms n/a you will be ok getting the ls block sleeved, install gsr water and oil pump, balance crank and shot pine the rods.

I forgot, someone metntioned rod bolts. use arp rod bolts. you'll have to have the rods machined to make them fit. I'd also install arp head bolts
the block shouldnt be your concern if you want to rev the motor.... just get some aftermarket rods and nice pistons and do some head work and you wont have any problem... of course if you want to rev this high you should get a much more agressive cam so that you actually make power up that high.... if you want to rev a stock ls motor you shouldnt have any problem with 8000.... that is about the limit... i have had an ls-vtec stock botom end and havve had no problems reving it to 8000... i have even over reved it accidently a few times. if you have any questions just email me Andrew_burchett@mail.msj.edu or IM me at Kingbb69
I am building my LSVtec now and from what I can tell you need to first and formost make sure you get your bottom end balanced. I did go through the trouble of getting the caps ground and drilled for the 13mm dowel rods to prevent them from walking. Many people will tell you it is not neccesary but I am putting alot of money in this project and an extra 100$ for this small piece of mind don't seem like a whole lot to me. Good luck and keep us posted on your build.
I have also hear of people who will use the GSR caps that are already setup for the girdle and just have the bottom end line bored.

all honda injectors are the same...except for the preludes......if you get the 92-96 prelude injectors there 310cc i believe but you need the resistor box....but if you go with th 97 up...u just need the injectors....only problem you have is the OBDII and OBDI plugs.....
as for ls/vtec....make sure you replace with oem bearings, rings, GSR/Type R oil pump and water pump, ARP head studs(GSR would be fine)....i have a ls/vtec setup.....CTR Pistons stock Bore, and 00-01 CTR CAMS....gsr head with dual valve springs.....rev up to 9 all day long.....
it also depends on your head that you have, valve springs can handle so much.....reving too high you can drop a valve.....

everyone have their own opinions but to me if its built right it should be fine to rev it to 8k even on a stock block with a stock oem build or a fully built with aftermarket goodies. alot of peep have done it im pretty sure. its just how u drive it ..if u drive it hard all the time and it will blow up within 3-6months but if u take care of it its should be fine. i have friend with a stock ls bottom and stock gsr head and his motor still runing til this day and its been 2 yrs now. and he race it at the track 5 to 6 events a year plus its a daily driver. so go for it..like i said just make sure its build right, tune right it dont matter if its stock OEM build , mild or fully build it should be fine.
are you using oem parts or are you buying stuff like je ,and eagle(meaning pistons, and rods). If you are using stock just make sure you use arp rod bolt they are a direct replacement you don't have to get anything machined to use these, as far as making power up there you are going to have to have the head built to make that power. any other queastions just email me at hoosick718@yahoo.com or just pm me. I can answer alot of your queastions.
