heat ratios

how do i fiqure how much heat i should use, do i need to just expieiment or is there like a chart,

If you have the book that came with your welder theres usually a chart in there.

ok, i found the chart, but what does this mean ,A-1.5, i know what A STANDS FOR BUT WHAT IS 1.5
